Only PowerPoint provides support for Emoji in the Office 2011 release. If the document is opened using a program which supports Emoji, though, the correct symbol will display. For example, □ displays as ☺︎ but most will display as a boxed Much a guessing game & those that do insert will not display as expected. it seems to be limited to only those which use legacy values that coincide with or overlap the codes for existing symbols. I don't know of anywhere that the usable ones are documented. There are veryįew which can be inserted but it's quite a limited number. Neither Excel nor Word support Emoji in Office 2011. Jim is correct that what he suggested will add a button to the main menu bar which provides access to the Emoji & Symbols dialog, but it will not make any difference.
